How it works

  1. Pick your country

GST, VAT or sales tax, tax-ID labels and state rules are set for you.

  2. Add the client and items

Totals, tax split and amount in words update as you type.

  3. Download the PDF

Print to PDF from your browser. It is saved to Documents too.

What a good invoice includes

Your business name and contact details, the client’s name and address, a unique sequential number, the issue date and due date, a clear description of each item with quantity and price, tax shown separately, the total due, and how to pay.

If you are registered for GST or VAT, most countries also require your registration number and, above certain amounts, the buyer’s details. Choose your country above and InvoiceKit adds the right labels and wording (for example “Tax Invoice” in India and Australia).

How the maths works

Each line is quantity × rate. A discount is taken off the subtotal before tax, and tax is calculated per rate group and rounded to the nearest cent or paisa, so the totals on the PDF always add up. All amounts are handled as whole cents internally, never floating-point.

Frequently asked questions

Is InvoiceKit really free?

Yes. Everything you need for a correct invoice, including GST/VAT breakdowns, saved clients, history and backups, is free. Optional Pro adds a logo, premium templates, QR payments, CSV export and removes ads.

Do I need to sign up?

No. There is no account. Open the page, fill in the form and download your invoice.

Where is my data stored?

Only in this browser on this device (localStorage). InvoiceKit has no accounts and no database, so we never receive your documents, clients or prices. Export a backup from Documents if you want a copy elsewhere.

How do I save the invoice as a PDF?

Press Download PDF. Your browser’s print dialog opens; choose “Save as PDF” as the destination. On Android Chrome choose “Save as PDF” under the printer list.

Can I make a GST or VAT invoice?

Yes. Pick India for GST with CGST/SGST or IGST, the UK or South Africa for VAT, Australia or New Zealand for GST, Canada for GST/HST/PST/QST, and more. Check the country guide for what must appear on the document.

Information only, not tax or legal advice. Tax rules change and depend on your situation. Check the official source or a qualified accountant before relying on them. You are responsible for what your documents say.
