Who we are
InvoiceKit is a product by Equisteg, a small software company in India that builds focused, privacy-first tools. Equisteg is the publisher of this site and responsible for its content. You can reach us at support@equisteg.com.
Why there is no signup
Most invoice tools ask for an account before you can type a single line, then keep your client list and prices on their servers. We think a document you write for your own business should stay yours. InvoiceKit runs entirely in your browser: what you type is saved in your browser’s local storage and nowhere else. We have no database of users, invoices or clients, so there is nothing to leak, sell or lose.
The trade-off is that you are in charge of your copy. That is why backups (JSON export and import) are free for everyone.
How we make money
The free version shows a few clearly labelled ads, never inside your document and never next to the buttons you use. Pro removes ads entirely (no ad scripts load at all) and adds branding and convenience features. Everything needed for a correct, tax-compliant invoice stays free.
Editorial policy for tax content
- Sources: country guides are written from official sources only (tax authorities and legislation) and link to them.
- Dates: every guide shows when its rules were last checked. We re-check rates and invoice requirements at least once a year and when budgets or reforms are announced.
- Calculations: tax is calculated in whole cents/paise with rounding rules that are covered by automated tests, so the web app and the Android app always agree.
- Limits: InvoiceKit gives general information, not tax or legal advice. It does not generate government e-invoices (such as India’s IRN or Kenya’s eTIMS); where those are required, use the official system.
- Corrections: if something is wrong or out of date, email us. We fix confirmed errors promptly and update the date on the page.
Accessibility
We aim for WCAG 2.2 AA: every field has a label, everything works with a keyboard, and both light and dark themes meet contrast guidelines. If something does not work for you, please tell us.
